Dealing With Dry Skin

September 19th, 2009

Dry skin is one thing that has never really plagued me.  I have always had super oily skin, even when using something drying like alcohol.  But this being said, my sister for some reason really got the dry skin gene or something.  Despite what you may think, it actually makes acne worse sometimes, it definitely makes wrinkles appear sooner and more prevalently, and for that reason among others, there have been hundreds of moisturizers to hit the market.

I prefer the light ones, water based usually.  But I haven’t yet been able to convince my sister that those moisturizers could work just as well if not better than the ones she uses that really never do the job anyway quite right, and they are really thick.  She thinks she hasn’t found anything thick enough.  But frankly, one of the biggest thing when you have dry skin, which again defies logic for my sister, is to take a multivitamin.  Your skin is expressing some problem within the body, accommodate it.  Seaweed can also be a really good food to eat.  But in terms of actual moisturizers, even with super dry skin, water based moisturizers can surprise you in their effectiveness, especially without clogging pores.
