Sunless Tanners

August 20th, 2009

I’ve had a lot of questions about sunless tanners lately.  People want to protect their skin from the sun not only to prevent wrinkles, but also to prevent skin cancer among other things.  But at the same point in time, they don’t want to look pasty white at the same time.  They want a certain healthy glow or otherwise tan, and they don’t want to sacrifice either one for the other.  So I looked into them.  There are pills, creams, etc, and frankly the creams are the best option as are the sprays in salons.  You just have to make sure you are actually applying them evenly, that’s the big thing realistically speaking.

But also they basically accelerate the rate at which your skin tans or in some cases they just cover it up while sometimes even using sunscreens to protect, which is the best way to go.  But the pills are not to be used without caution.  There are those pills that will accelerate the tanning process, and in a big way they are middle of the road.  However, there are also those that actually artificially tan your skin.  Unfortunately, when you do this with a pill you take the chance of coloring your eyes with little dots or otherwise suffering quite embarrassing and serious side effects.  The spots in your eyes can last for years at a time.  So definitely try the outer options.
